DIY Diffuser
A nice way to soften the effects of an on camera flash is to add diffusion to it. Here is a handy little one made out of a slide box that fits on a Nikon D70.

Mannequin Series
From the site:
“there is absolutely no airbrushing or digital manipulation in the photos on this page. The magic of these photos is the meticulously planned image alignment. I shot these using film, locking the camera to a tripod and then taking two photos one after the other. It’s old-school photo montage, nothing more.”chapter9photography > PORTFOLIO > mannequin series

Cool Tripod
I could use one of these, you can mount it on a cars'in one configuration and in another shoot directly down in another. Packs away in a small space too.

Frozen Rose Photos
This is a series of photos taken with a sound sensor connected to a flash. The subject (the rose) was frozen in liquid nitrogen and then shot with a rifle. The rifles report triggered the strobes that were attached to the flashes. All were taken with a D100 f-4 - 5.6 1.3uS exposure.
